A short-cut review was carried out to establish whether antibiotic therapy is effective and safe in the treatment of chlamydia in pregnancy. A total of 165 citations was reviewed, of which four answered the three-part question. The clinical bottom line is that treatment of chlamydial infections during pregnancy can prevent early complications.
