Dear Editor,

I find it concerning that, as shown by this study, a number of Consultants believe they are above the law with respect to traffic offences. I would have liked to think that consultants utilising Green Beacons would recognise the limitations of their use; both legally and practically. I would also like to hope that they recognise the danger in which any 'emergency' driving places members of the public and the driver in question.

Perhaps many of these Doctors are confusing the use of Green Beacons with BASICS Doctors who utilise Blue and Green Beacons when responding to assist the Ambulance Service.
