Confirmation of endotracheal tube placement with end tidal CO2 detection
The correct placement of an endotracheal tube is vital. Independent confirmation of correct tube placement by the use of devices that detect end tidal CO2 is mandatory for every endotracheal intubation performed in the emergency department and as part of the assessment of all patients who arrive at the emergency department already intubated.
