      Introduction

      A key driver in the Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) initiative was to provide another career pathway for NHS staff to retain a clinical focus. To understand some of the issues facing ECPs, and to stimulate debate around managing new ways of working, we explored the perceived influences of previous background on the integration of ECPs into their new role.
