The ‘pole and tent’ pressure dressing

Dear Sir,
Pressure from circumferential compression bandages to control arterial or venous haemorrhage following trauma to the upper extremity frequently results in venous congestion or even ischaemia to the limb beyond the bandage. We describe a simple and reliable method of pressure dressing that eliminates the risk of venous congestion or ischaemia.
