2020, ResuscitationCitation Excerpt :With this in mind, we analyzed and observed an increase in number of worst-cases of OHCA in Region 2, supporting our suspicion of a changed reporting pattern due to the changed pre-hospital manning from physicians to non-physicians in Region 2. Such regional changes in reporting pattern are important to be aware of when analyzing and comparing data and outcomes across regions, which depending on the analyzing method can make results less comparable to other populations/regions.4,9,25 Regional variation was also observed in 30-day survival in all our analyses, which has earlier been found partly explained1,3,7,26 by differences in patient, socioeconomic, and geographical factors, bystander CPR3,21 and defibrillation,27 EMS response, the distance/time from OHCA to hospital28 and the in-hospital treatment.29
