Alternative Treatment Options for Atrioventricular-Nodal-Reentry Tachycardia: An Emergency Medicine Review
2018, Journal of Emergency MedicineCitation Excerpt :One prospective observational study performed in 2001 found the prevalence of adenosine-induced dysrhythmia to be 13%, including asystole < 4 s (7%), paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (1%), and nonsustained ventricular tachycardia (5%) (25). In addition, prolonged bradycardia and complete AV block have been noted in several case reports (26,27). One case study reported a sinus pause of 14 s, followed by complete AV block for 6 s, followed by a tonic-clonic seizure (26).
