A short-cut review was carried out to establish whether the addition of an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor to standard therapy in patients with acute episodes of heart failure improves outcome. A total of 459 papers were found using the reported searches, of which two presented the best evidence to answer the clinical question.
