    As an emergency physician, often with a limited concentration span, reading a 44-chapter textbook entitled ‘Acute Pain Management’ felt like a daunting task to undertake. It is a heavyweight textbook; certainly not a quick reference guide as to what is the optimum analgesia that should be given to the next patient in the resuscitation department.
