The authors argue that the results of this relatively small study indicate that it may be reasonable not to obtain many post-reduction x rays and not to x ray all patients with recurrent dislocations. They do, however, suggest that a larger study is required and warn that their policy may not satisfy medico-legal opinion! Always interested in politics and an avid Guardian reader, Sophia’s eye was drawn to a lively review published on 19th August 2006 relating to an article published about evidence based medicine ( Int J Evid Based Healthc2006;4:1806OpenUrl) . Followers of Cochrane are at risk of being offended, but will need to understand what has been written first (holders of a postgraduate certificate in education are at a distinct advantage).
