AB  - The case is presented of a woman with a gradual onset of knee pain due to calcific tendonitis of the medial collateral ligament (MCL). The diagnosis was made based on clinical findings, plain radiography and magnetic resonance imaging. Her symptoms improved with non-operative measures. Calcific tendonitis is a common pathology of the shoulder, but has not previously been described to involve the MCL of the knee. Different treatment options are considered in the paper.
