The author, date and country of publication; patient group studied; study type; relevant outcomes; results and study weaknesses of these best papers are tabulated. It is concluded that, pending further research, it is advisable to avoid NSAID use in cases of primary varicella due to the potential increased risk of severe bacterial skin infections. Paracetamol should be given instead.
