Routine coagulation screening test (PT, APTT)
Specialised platelet activity and clotting factor studies (levels of antithrombin III, protein C, protein S, plasminogen activator, plasminogen activator inhibitor, fibrinogen, as well as resistance to activated protein C)
Oral methionine loading test
HIV test in selected cases
