Emergency department (ED) | The emergency department (ED) at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) provides high quality care for adults and children around the clock. The ED may use a triage system of screening and classifying clients to determine priority needs for the most efficient use of available personnel and equipment |
NHS walk-in centre | Loughborough walk-in centre provides nurse-led urgent care for minor injuries and minor illness. It is open 24 h a day, 365 days a year. Two walk-in centres in Leicester (Oadby and Wigston and SSAFA) are open from 08:00 to 20:00 h, 365 days a year. They are both combined GP-led health centres and walk-in centres. The GP-led health centre provides general medical services to registered patients and immediate necessary treatment (minor illness and injury) to walk-in patients |

Urgent care centre | The centre based at the LRI offers an alternative to people who need to see a GP urgently at evenings and weekends and who cannot wait until they can go to their own doctor.
